Anya Zhelud - Exercise, 2013
Many years ago I saw a documentary on tv about a possibly Norweigan or maybe Icelandic island, outside which loads of ships had sunk and their crew were supposedly haunting the island. I think they called the ghosts “döingar” or some other similar word.
I think the documentary was about someone who had composed choir music based on the legends of the drowned sailors, and the music was solemn and creepy with the ghosts themselves singing, and the whole film was very grey and moody.
I really really want to see it again but I have no idea what it or the island was called, and I’m at the point where I am starting to wonder if I made it up. Ring a bell for anyone?
would interest me too
